What is Aroma Massage?
Aroma massage is a relaxing massage that uses aromatic essential oils, diluted in a carrier oil, together with gentle kneading strokes.
Unlike most therapies on our list, it is not a classical Panchakarma procedure. We offer it as a relaxation-focused massage for people who enjoy a lighter, scented treatment.
How Aroma Massage is done at Sattva
Every therapy at Sattva begins with a consultation. Our physician reviews your health history, diet and lifestyle and uses traditional methods such as pulse diagnosis (Nadi Pariksha) to understand your constitution, then decides whether Aroma Massage is right for you and which preparation to use. Panchakarma at Sattva is medically supervised.
The therapist checks your preferences and any sensitivities, then massages with slow, gentle strokes in a quiet room. Essential oils are always diluted before they touch the skin.
Who may benefit from Aroma Massage?
Our clinic describes aroma massage as promoting a sense of well-being, reducing stress and supporting healing through pleasant scents and gentle kneading. It may suit people who:
- Want to relax and unwind
- Prefer gentle pressure
- Enjoy aromatic oils
Whether Aroma Massage is suitable for you is decided by the physician after your consultation. Please tell us about pregnancy, recent surgery or injury, fever, skin problems, allergies, heart conditions and any medicines you take.
Tell the therapist if you are pregnant, have asthma, allergies or sensitive skin, as some essential oils are not suitable.
What to expect
Your visit starts with a consultation, after which the therapy is carried out in the therapy room. Afterwards you can rest before going home, and the therapist will give you simple aftercare advice. The length of each session and the number of sittings vary from person to person; your physician will explain them in your treatment plan.
